THE ONE THAT GIVES YOU 5 DAYS OF CULTURE, NATURE, ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES, MOUNTAINS, AND A CLOUDY FOREST All IN ONE COUNTRY
Ideal for photographers and families with younger kids, this version of the Inca Trail hike moves at a slightly slower pace. While following the same trail as the classic 4-day trek, we will stop at alternative campsites to avoid crowds and have more time to enjoy the amazing scenery. This version also gives you a night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes so you can shower and clean up for an additional entry to Machu Picchu on day 5.
As with the classic Inca trail, access to this trek is strictly limited and requires a ticket to be purchased roughly 6 months in advance. Please CONTACT FOR AVAILABILITY.

We will drive from your hotel to the start of the Inca Trail at KM 82.
The first leg of the trek passes amazing scenery and a few Inca sites for 3 hours until we get to the lunch spot.
After lunch, a 2 hour climb takes us through 2 small communities to the campsite at Huallabamba.
Day 2: HUALLABAMBA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA
We will enjoy a hearty breakfast before we start the day hiking through the high jungle.
After 5 hours, we will arrive at our campsite at LLulluchapampa where you will have spectacular views of the valley and llamas.
You will have dinner here to relax and prepare for a long journey the next day.
Day 3: LLULLUCHAPAMPA – P’UYUPATAMARKA
Today is the most impressive day of the trek. We will begin with an early breakfast before hiking for 2 hours until we reach the famous Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest point of the trail.
From there, we will start descending for 2 hours, passing Inca sites, until we arrive at the lunch spot.
After lunch, we will take the “Indiana Jones Trail” through the jungle until we get to our campsite at P’uyupatamarka.
Day 4: P’UYUPATAMARKA – AGUAS CALIENTES
After breakfast, we will hike down the famous Inca stairs to our last major trail site at Wiñay Wayna where we will have lunch and a guided tour.
From here, we will continue walking until we enter the checkpoint of Machu Picchu.
You will enter the city through the Sun Gate before descending into the citadel.
You will have some time to explore the city before taking the bus to Aguas Calientes.
We will have dinner all together in town and sleep in a nice comfy hotel with a hot shower.
Day 5: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
We will wake up early to try to catch one of the first buses back to Machu Picchu.
After a 2 hour walking tour with your guide, you will have time to explore on your own or climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain.
When you are done exploring, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes to meet your guide.
Together you will all take the train to Ollantaytambo where your van to Cusco will be waiting.
